Since discovering kink in 2010 and Leather in 2012, Meghan is proud to have served her community as International Ms Bootblack 2016. She was also honored to have served as Great Lakes Bootblack 2015 and Bluegrass Leather Pride Bootblack 2015. As the youngest person to receive this International title, she strives to break ground and create opportunities for other young folk to share their knowledge, perspectives and experiences.
Bootblacking has not only given her the chance to serve her community, but has acted as a vehicle for personal change. As she continues to build her technical skillset, shes been able to step outside of her comfort zone for personal growth. Being on both sides of the chair allows her to define her ideas of sexual and personal expression and connect with individuals on a more intimate level. Meghan seeks to create an experience in her chair that not only honors and worships your Leather, but the person beneath it.
After completing her International title year, she has focused her time and energy by volunteering and reinvesting in her local community. She is a full member Titan of the Midwest where she gets to teach new classes and help facilitate learning on a larger scale. Meghan is also continuing her membership of Mr Friendly Team Louisville. Through this organization, she has been able to use her Public Health Education degree to start conversations to end stigma.
Recently, she has served Team Friendly Louisville as Treasurer and as a Member at Large consecutively on the Board of Directors. Meghan is also honored to join the Board of Directors as Co-Director of the Great Lakes Bootblack Contest in Indianapolis, IN during the Great Lakes Leather Alliance weekend.
At home in Louisville, KY, Meghan loves to share her knowledge of Leather care in Bootlabs, classes, and through mentorship. Getting to help grow a love of Leather care and the Bluegrass Bootblack community has strengthened her connection to her community and family.
Pawlish, International Mr. Bootblack 2017, is a kinster, Leatherman, Daddy, and boofer. Nearly everything he does is fueled by curiosity, which feeds a deep passion for learning and mentorship. His “muggle” side loves teaching specialized communication skills, discussing new perspectives on employee and customer engagement, and brining new light to the minority experience through the lens of his life as a Korean adoptee by a US military family.
His motto for kink: “What does this button do?” Pawlish believes everything can and should be an expression of sensory play. It’s all about eliciting reactions. His favorite flags include red, navy blue, houndstooth, black, hunter green, and teddy bear, all on the left. Don’t be afraid to ask about others or those he sometimes wears on the right!
Bootblacking checks all the boxes for this boofer. Some times, he really enjoys sitting down in front of a Disney movie, working on a spit shine for hours. Other times, he loves nerding out over products, techniques, types of leather… whatever really, with other bootblacks. And there really isn’t anything like working a stand, hearing people’s stories, and (occasionally) causing some mischief!
When at home, Pawlish’s hobbies include baking, playing video games, crocheting and woodworking—when he remembers to make time for them. Williams Sonoma is his happy place as well as any new restaurant recommendations he can get. Pawlish is a curmudgeonly homebody in Cincinnati with his husband, Bamm-Bamm.
