Retired Leather, Preservation and Conservation Master Class by Leslie Anderson
Kicking off the 20th Anniversary of the IMsBB contest, we are honored to add a very special day-long intensive hosted by Leslie Anderson, IMsBB 1999. Jointly sponsored by IMsLBB Productions, IMsL Foundation and Women's Leather History Project at the LA&M, Leslie will be leading a small group intensive focused on working with retired leather to learn how to preserve and conserve it. Leslie has done workshops around the country not only on leather conservation but on celebrating the history of the pieces she restores. Leslie co-founded the LA&M Leather Preservation & Conservation Project where she spends countless hours to keep our history alive.
Leslie will share her expertise during the workshop which includes hands-on coaching. The master class will run from 9:00am - 5:00pm on Thursday, April 19 at the Doubletree Hotel in San Jose. The workshop is for intermediate and advanced skill levels and since seating is limited, will be based on an application process. There will be a fee for this workshop to cover travel, shipping of materials and supplies as well as recognizing Leslie's expertise in this area. The registration fee will be $200 but there will be partial and full scholarships available if selected.
